"Ghost Town is a little
bit of country, a little bit of rock 'n' roll, a little bit of rockabilly and a
whole lot of fun." – Keith Spera, New Orleans Times Picayune
Lagniappe “Classic honky-tonk, with a rock ’n’ roll attitude.” – OffBeat.com Christian Serpas & Ghost Town play rocked out, revved up country music. They call it American honky tonk, but however you describe them - Americana, alt.country, roots music - one thing is certain, Ghost Town has never met a crowd they didn’t rock. "The first time we opened a show for a big name country act, their road manager said we sounded like Led Zeppelin playing Johnny Cash," says Serpas. "We considered that a good start." Just four months after forming, Ghost Town won the New Orleans Jimmy Dean True Value Country Showdown, and were soon sharing stages with everyone who’s anyone in country music (Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Kenny Chesney, Pat Green, Cross Canadian Ragweed and over 50 others), hitting the honky-tonks and festivals throughout the Gulf South, selling thousands of their CDs and their now famous "God Bless Johnny Cash" t-shirts, all while making fans out of folks who professed to not like “country music”.
Christian Serpas (vocals, acoustic guitar), Jeff Oteri (drums, vocals), George Neyrey (electric guitar, vocals), Brent Roser (bass guitar, vocals).

But from the moment Christian Serpas and Ghost Town took the stage, I found myself entranced by the band's eclectic style, intrigued by their tall-tale lyrics and unwittingly tapping my feet to their rhythmic beat. I came to the show out of curiosity, but stayed for great music and a great time.” - Kimberly Sanders Vanderbrook, INSIDE NORTHSIDE MAGAZINE, April / May 2004 "Clean, uncluttered country, drawing on the likes of Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens. Serpas' lyrics are riddled with the kind of wordplays that mark the most memorable country compositions." - Keith Spera, New Orleans Times Picayune – Lagniappe 7.7.00 “The songs have a subtle cleverness phrased in lines that sound like common speech.
